So, I’ve taken a big leap this year. Hey, it IS Leap Year, you know?! I made a BIG career decision that will greatly impact my life. But jumping in with both feet doesn’t always mean you’re on easy street. Often, waiting is part of the process. And waiting can get frustrating, boring, and worrying, even for me. But waiting is not passive, it’s active. It’s preparatory. This song lifts my spirits when I feel antsy or dissatisfied in the moment. When I listen back to this, I’m encouraged that there is another side, a light at the end of the “waiting tunnel”. If I want to reach the end of it, I must move forward…in faith.
This song is written by my friend Ruthie. She’s a stellar sing-songwriter as well. I so appreciate her lyrics and insight into “waiting”. Thanks, love.

I sing because she sang. My godfather said it best. When he heard the news, he thought, April’s mentor has passed away. Yes, exactly. She was my mentor. My life soundtrack was filled with her music. Before there was such a thing as a playlist, before the iPod. My family knighted me a singer and musician the moment each side didn’t confer before Christmas and I ended up with not one but TWO Sony portable microphones! I sing because she sang.
